Solemn Speech on the Occasion of the Opening of the Digital Literacy School

Dear friends, esteemed colleagues, and partners,

Today, I am honored and delighted to welcome you on behalf of KEM NET Sarl, as well as in my capacity as the official representative of the German association „Occident Meets Orient – Multicultural and Ecological Vision for Eurasia and Africa e.V.“ in Cameroon and the countries of Sub-Saharan Africa.

I’m proud and excited to announce: our project has started! Today we are opening the first digital literacy school. This is not just an educational institution. It is the first step in a great journey that begins here in Douala, but will extend to all of Cameroon and then to all of Africa. We will not be limited to a single city. We are building a new system based on knowledge, equity and sustainable development. We are laying the foundation for the future.

And we’re starting with what is most essential — teaching children. In today’s technological world, knowing how to use a computer and understanding the basics of programming are not luxuries but vital necessities. It is the language of the future. It is the pathway to freedom, equality of opportunity, to independence.

Children are our future. And we have a duty to give them a chance. To provide them with knowledge. To equip them with the tools necessary to reach their potential and change their lives as well as society and the continent.

And we will not stop at digital skills. We are preparing other subjects, new disciplines, new horizons. Learning foreign languages, continuing education for adults, internship programs abroad — all of this is already a part of our vision.

For too long our continent has suffered from poverty, hunger, injustice, and prejudice. For too long Africa has been looked down upon.

It’s time to say: ENOUGH.

We refuse to be the object of charity. We become creators. We are partners. We are leaders of a new world.

Education is not just the acquisition of knowledge — it is the key that opens the doors of the future. It is a weapon against poverty and dependency. It is a bridge between peoples.

The historical ties between Cameroon and Germany are not only a past but also an opportunity for a shared future. Humanitarian and educational programs are becoming a soft power that can unite continents.

The promotion of this project is a powerful marketing and political platform for expanding the influence of Occident Meets Orient in Germany. After all, Cameroon has always been in the sphere of German interests, and today humanitarian return can arouse the interest of both governmental structures and foundations. This gives OmO – MEcoVEA the chance to become an instrument of real international dialog.

We are building the Africa of tomorrow — strong, free, just.

Africa must be free!
Free from prejudice.
Free from misery.
Free from dependency.
Free — and proud.

Thank you for your support, your trust, and for being with us on this journey.

Africa must be free!!!

Sincerely,
Alexandre Kem
